DARWARS has the power to transform training in many ways. Here is one hypothetical scenario:

A day in the life of
1stLT Diez, DARWARS Instructor

1315 1stLT Diez logs into DARWARS on a PC at a site in Washington and checks the progress of his trainees, who are engaged in a training exercise from remote and on-site locations

1415 1stLT Diez acts as an observer/controller from his station, monitoring the action and tracking progress

1500 AAR begins, and 1stLT Diez uses the full set of DARWARS tools to direct play back of the mission and to highlight important training events. The AAR is tailored to take into account each trainee’s goals in the exercise

A day in the life of
SGT Woods, DARWARS Trainee

1400 SGT Woods logs into DARWARS on a laptop at her station in Germany and checks the training schedule, which shows a joint convoy training operation with soldiers from three different commands in 15 minutes. Woods reviews her personal objectives and progress to date and schedules a few additional individual training sessions.

1415 SGT Woods begins the realistic game based exercise, communicating with convoy team members located in the United States and Middle East. They do better than last time.

1500 AAR begins, and SGT Woods receives feedback automatically tailored to take her goals into account, along with some pertinent personal instructions from LT Diez

1525 AAR is over and a couple of new training objectives are added to SGT Woods’ DARWARS training profile based on the AAR results. One of them is language and cultural skills. SGT Woods decides to take some language training now, before logging off.

A day in the life of
SPC Maven, DARWARS Trainee

1345 SPC Maven logs into DARWARS on a laptop from his home station and reviews convoy driving tactics in a solo mission or two before coming online

1415 SPC Maven begins the convoy training exercise together with other with members of his sister unit currently in country

1500 AAR begins and SPC Maven gets some important feedback on avoiding ambushes in urban areas

1525 Using the built-in DARWARS tools, SPC Maven quickly creates a new mission scenario based on a reported ambush that happened earlier in that day, and spends another half hour practicing maneuvers with the rest of his local unit
